Child Life Specialists

Child life specialists work closely with children and families, serving as emotional support and helping develop family coping strategies. With a background in child development, psychology and counseling, child life specialists explain medical words and conditions in terms your child can understand, so they feel more comfortable and part of their treatment process. Our goal is to help our young patients better handle uncomfortable situations and procedures and enable them to overcome natural fears they may have about their condition.

Our expertly trained child life specialists offer age-appropriate social interactions and playtime designed to promote well-being and help your child stay on-track developmentally. DMG Children’s Rehabilitative Services’ (DMG CRS) child life specialists and care team members are here to assist your child and family in preparation for surgeries and hospitalization, including pre-admittance and support after any procedure.
